Context
Listing Los Cabos is a real estate platform in Mexico. When they came to us, the product had been inherited from previous developers — a React + Firebase application that was only half-built, with key features broken, including property upload and the map.
The deeper problem was ownership: the client did not own their own source code or hosting account. Internally, listings were managed with paper and Excel, there was no unified view, and all the knowledge lived in one person’s head.
The problem
- A half-finished platform with critical flows broken.
- No control over the code or the hosting environment — the previous vendor kept it.
- No authentication, no monetization, no single source of truth for listings.
What we did
- Rebuilt the React application with a proper service layer and a responsive design.
- Moved all keys into environment variables and stood up a new hosting environment under the client’s exclusive control.
- Added authentication and monetization through Stripe subscriptions — three plans with active-listing limits (10 / 30 / 50) and a 60-day free trial.
- Consolidated everything into one codebase serving two brands/cities — Los Cabos and Mexico City.
Result
The client now has full control of their system, a new recurring revenue stream from subscriptions, and a much easier way to publish properties and know their status at a glance.
